Bike Maintenance

Today is my bike maintenance day. A day where I dedicate spending a large portion on my day on maintaining my two bicycles. The main bike that I ride is a Repco Olympic road bike which is in a stylish yellow colour with a Shimano Sora Groupset.  This bike was bought from ebay at $256. I feel as if it was a good price to pay but to be honest, I do not know that much about bikes to be making that kind of call, but it feels like a good price. A few minor issues with the bike was that it was really really dirty and grimey, I had to spend at least 2 hours cleaning the chain, cassette, rear derailer and wiping down the entire bike. Another issue is that the gears or the shifters don’t always work or need to be pressed really hard for a gear change to register not to mention that a few gears in the middle just won’t bite in. But all in all, i’m fairly happy with the bike. It rides like a dream.

My Road Bike

My mountain bike is the bike I ride with my family as I do not need to go very fast. This is the first bike I bought brand new and it cost me $320. So my road bike cost more then my mountain bike which is not normally the case. After a good cleaning this bike is a dream ot ride.

My Mountain Bike

Although now that I’ve been bitten by the bike bug, I am now looking into accessories like panniers so that I do not need to carry a bag, cycling computers, cycling vest and knicks as well as shoes. I think the next upgrade to my bike will be cycling shoes. Although I don’t like the idea of having to carry around two sets of shoes everywhere.

Long story short, I need another house for my bikes.

Gundams

So I built my first Gundams the other day two of which were easy very easy to create and took a total of 10 mins each. Those two were from Superior Defenders range of Gundams so they were small and stumpy but the second one me and Tara built was a slightly bigger, leaner and harder version. 2 hours, 2 broken parts, super glue and a stanley knife later our creation was completed. I must say that it looks mighty fine. Pics up later.

Long story short, I still need another shelf.

I return.

After a long sabatical and my one post wonder, I return with nothing in particular except that I have rekindled my childhood obsession passion for toys. I find myself week after week spending money on toys when I should be spending it on more important things, like rice… and what not.

So far in my collection  of toys are

Mighty Muggs - Ghost Rider, Doc Oc, Thor, Black Spidey
Mighty Muggs

  • Ghost Rider
  • Hulk
  • Captain America
  • Doc Oc
  • Thor
  • Black Spider
  • Dr Henry Jones
  • Indiana Jones
  • Mace Windu
  • Count Dooku
  • Asajj Ventress

Revoltech

  • Saber
  • Black Getter

And these are the only ones that I have collected thus far along with a lot of tiny figurines that are like a Kinder Surprise. You don’t know what figure you have till you open it up. Of course they go by theme, which in most cases is anime based, so you would get 1 out of the 10 possible characters in a certain anime series.

Long story short,  I need a new shelf.

Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer – Part 1

Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the WandererThis is quite the unique RPG game. If you have not played nethack or one of it’s similar roguelike games this will be a weird experience for you because it’s a turn based game. Not like Final Fantasy where battles are turn based, but everything. As in, if you take a step, npcs then take a step. When you attack, the enemy can attack as well.  Each time you play the game the dungeons change Another thing people will not be used to is that if you die, that is it, you are dead. If you want to play again your character will start again at level 1 or request to be rescued by another player via local wifi or via Nintendo wifi. So if you love your character and you die, you will have to request to be rescued and then wait until you are rescued. You might never be rescued, but luckily you do not need to have your DS on while waiting to be rescued.
